Hi friends! I am just wondering how you all feel about this issue. I am coming up on being a rehasher for a year. I started off strong and swapped a lot. Then as I tired of the junk I was getting I really slowed down my swaps. I think I have almost 60 positives. So, if I am going to swap with someone who has been on for a couple months and done the same amount of swaps, or more, should I be expected to ship first? I want to do the right thing which means less ships first, but sometimes it doesn’t seem fair. This isn’t in regaurds to anyone as I have had only successful swaps since mid-summer. where it is hot and cold in the same season!, |

But a lot of people that are fairly new here do not rehash properly so i guess we cant expect much. Brigantine, NJ |

What makes me nervous with the time issue is the string of swaplifters we have had in my time here. It seems that a lot of them make a ton of trades to get their karma up, then make a lot more trades and expect you to ship first before dropping off the face of the earth. There’s no need to mention any times, but I’m sure most people can think of at least one person who has done that. I’ve been here about a year and have only made 40 swaps. To some people this may look good, to others it may look bad. If somebody has been around a while with less karma I have no qualms about shipping first. But when there are people with tons of karma in a short period it makes me nervous. Are they going to drop off of rehash? Are they making too many trades to keep track of? Are they going to take the care someone else would? Essentially it is probably best to talk it over every single time you make a trade. |

I am with you Chelsea. I have been here for 10 months and only have 40 swaps because I do not want to overwhelm myself and get backed up. If someone has been here 3 months and has the same amount or more as me, I would usually ship first or send at the same time. I guess I just do this because of the more karma rule, but I see how it can get sketchy when someone seems to just be building their karma in plans to start swaplifting. Its a difficult call, but I usually stick with the karma rule and instinct. It is funny that there seems to be an art/scheme/game plan to rehashing lol. HAWTHORNE, CA |

If u have less karma, u ship first!!! unless we have similar karma amount or have already swapped. What makes me nervous are the many good rehashers who suddenly go bad after many many many good karma? I don’t think time has anything to do with it. either u have more karma or u don’t. I have 90 positive feedbacks and have only been rehashing like 9 months, and I haven’t screwed up either like some others that I know…....(no one in this post feed yet, BTW, :) eg: like one rehasher sending owed items to the wrong rehasher, or lying about the description of items.
