It’s been brought to our attention that several members have been listing their items for trade as “Authentic” when they are clearly not. We recently had a trader claim authenticity and post a bogus receipt photo that was traced to another website to deceive people into believing the item was authentic. Please remember that by the terms of service, items that are knock-off’s or replicas are in violation of trademark infringement and several trademark laws. I don’t want to have to start cracking down on people and deleting designer replicas…. so please…the ONLY time you should be listing an item as authentic is if you personally purchased the item from an authorized retailer that can be verified if needed or if you have a receipt to back it up. Otherwise, claiming authenticity on designer/high-end items is misleading and wrong. JACKSONVILLE, FL |

I’ve recently have had to deal with this with an item I received that I was told was authentic, it turns out the original owner was Kayla Grace so I think that tells us all we need to know. I agree that people should only post items as authentic if they purchased them themselves. I would be happy to take down a replica that I have posted and listed as such if that’s the new policy, just let me know. New York, New York |

What if you trade for the item from a swapper you trust? I’ve traded for a couple of coach items and I trust the ladies I got them from 100%. Jefferson, Georgia |

I think that it’s ok to list items when you aren’t sure of the authenticity, as long as you state so. Unless you bought the item at the brand store, you should always put that you can’t guarantee authenticity. Like, I’ve got a knock-off D&G bag, and I adore it. D&G don’t make bags in the color I wanted, so I found a replica! :D Fort Worth, Tx |

I agree with Sandy. There’s no harm in saying “I’m not sure.” New York, New York |
