Lately I’ve noticed some disturbing trends around our lovely community: There are some traders who have been receiving items that are far from promised condition as well as just flat out junk. Swapping should be fun, and while there is some risk involved, it should never be complete regret after a trade is completed. If you have fallen victim to receiving items that are grossly misrepresented, you have every right to initial a “Reverse Swap” or “Swap Reversal”. This entails requesting your items back from the trader or simply sending the items back to them. Reasons why swaps can be reversed: - Items are in poor condition - Sizes are misrepresented or unlabeled - Item is more used than previously listed (ie, perfumes, lotions, etc.) - Item is counterfeit when listed as authentic Reasons why swaps cannot be reversed: - Item does not look “good” on you - Item does not fit (assuming you failed to request measurements) - Item is not what you “thought” it was (always ensure you ask questions) - Shipping is too expensive - Personal disputes When I say there is a risk in swapping, what I mean is that you won’t always LOVE everything you receive in a swap. That’s part of swapping, if you don’t love something, re-swap it! I’ve been swapping for 6+ years, and I can honestly say I have yet to receive a large swap that I LOVED every single thing. It’s just part of trading! I’ve had excellent swaps and I’ve had some really awful swaps, but I have requested swap reversals quite a few times when I was totally unsatisfied with the condition of the items. Don’t be afraid to request a swap reversal. Everyone has the right to do just that, and other members here (especially ones who have been trading for awhile) will understand, as they’ve most likely been there themselves. As for feedback, that is entirely up to you and should be given according to the situation. If the trade was overall a bad experience, then the proper negative feedback should be left, but only AFTER you have received your items back to prevent theft. If the trader was cordial, understanding and it was genuinely a mistake, then it’s up to you to award the feedback you feel is appropriate. Do NOT abuse this system though. The above listed reasons as to why a swap should be reversed should be adhered to (within reason and I’m sure there are more exceptions but you get the idea) and if you need help, the admin’s are here to do just that. Remember: A swap is NOT completed until both parties have received their end of the trade and both are satisfied. If you choose to use an item before the swap is complete, and the member requests a reverse swap that meets the conditions above, YOU are responsible for compensation for the use of their product or item. A good swapping practice is to set aside the items until the person has received yours. If you choose not to, you run the risk of being responsible for any wear & tear or use of their items. This will also encourage traders to speed up the process by knowing that items shouldn’t be used until their ends are received. If you choose to use this method, be SURE TO INFORM THE OTHER TRADER that you do not want them to use/wear/apply/trade or otherwise your items until the trade is complete. You can do this by putting a blurb on your profile, trades, or send them a message once you agree on a trade. Questions? We live here. Send us a message! JACKSONVILLE, FL |

When it comes to paying to send items back to someone, it’s the person who currently has the items responsibility to send it back. Even when the other person asks to reverse the swap. Here’s an example: Kristin and Adam to a swap. Kristin gets Adam’s item and vice versa. Well, let’s say that Adam does not think that Kristin’s item isn’t as described and Adam asks to reverse the swap. Kristin pays to send Adam’s item back to Adam and Adam pays to send Kristin’s item back. As Katie said above, a swap is not complete until BOTH parties receive their items and everything is ok. Which means that it’s in your best interest to put the item aside and not wear it/use it until the swap is complete. If the other person decides to reverse the swap and you no longer have the item or have been using it, you are responsible for it. Jefferson, Georgia |

Great post! So, really Ashley from Interlachen, Florida supposed to send her item that she initially agreed, as my item is in great shape. Though really I would be more than happy to get my original item back. I’m just worried that she has it for soo long, that if she decides to ship it back in 3-4 months she may wear it and it may not be the same. Gresham, OR |
