Hello, :3 I’m excited to start trading, but definitely worried about swaplifters :/ What are some common traits with swaplifters? Are there any hints or red flags I should watch out for? Can’t wait to get started :3 Mountain View, CA |

Something else has occurred to me… Who would ship first if both people don’t have any karma yet? Are there any suggestions for that as well, or will we just have to hash that out? Mountain View, CA |

Welcome to Rehash! I hope you enjoy it here, it’s a great resource to save money and be green! To answer your questions, I wish I could tell you certain sure-fire ways to tell swaplifters a part from trustable rehashers, but there aren’t. I’ve been swaplifted from a girl who was a GREAT communicator and added me on facebook and all of that, so even the friendly ones can have a trick up their sleeve. If I were you, I would avoid swapping with anyone with less than at least 25 karma. That was my way of weeding through the dishonest people. If you DO decide to swap with someone with no karma like yourself, although I highly recommend you not to, you could try to make an agreement with the swapee to ship the same day and get a tracking number, as I would recommend you do also. P.S. ALWAYS get a tracking number. It’s only 80cents extra and will save you a huge headache. That way, you know where your items are and no one can claim they didn’t receive. On a lighter note, welcome again and anytime you have a question, you can come to me, Katie or Gladiz and we would be happy to help!

First off, Welcome to Rehash! We know you’ll love it here :0) When you’re first starting off, it’s a good idea to stick to trading with members who have had a good history of completed trades and satisfied traders. This will prevent what we call “newbie-abuse”, where swaplifters come here offering trades to new folks with no or little karma, then unfortunately rip them off. JACKSONVILLE, FL |

Welcome to Rehash! There are so many wonderful ladies on here to swap with! Yes, there are a few swaplifters every once in awhile, but here are a few tips to be safe and not get scammed: 1. Check the general discussion forums quite a bit, there are lists of swaplifters and you can be updated about any fishy activity going on. 2. Only swap with people who are established in our community and have a high amount of karma. No matter how much you want an item, you shouldnt swap with someone you have to send at the same time yet, unless you want to risk losing your items. 3. HAVE FUN! I hope to swap with you sometime :) -Paris Blanco, TX |
