So, I’ve been waiting for several trades to arrive and I’m over one month on a couple. I have sent follow up emails (which have not been responded to). What is the guideline for deciding “I’ve been burned!” ? I don’t want to be to quick to assign Bad Kharma (especially if the trader currently has 100%), but I also feel it’s our responsibility to protect other Rehashers from trading with people that aren’t reciprocating.

I would just write (in respectable words, as I’m sure you would anyway) the reasons that you are giving them so. “Not responding to messages about why items have not arrived after more than reasonable amount of time.” Etc..

Okay, I finally went and did it… I gave BAD kharma to 2 people that I’m not 100% sure are scammers… I mean I don’t want to believe it… they seemed so nice in their emails…but one of them hasn’t shipped in 2 months and isn’t answering my emails… anyway, I completed multiple trades with both of them so if they pull through I can still post some positive kharma… but I think that REALLY, REALLY late shipments (without an explanation) deserve to be rated accordingly. Ah, the guilt of labeling people… why is it so hard for people to follow through???

I really don’t know. I mean, even if you don’t have a computer at home, it’s not unreasonable to think someone could go to the library every other week. But two months? Come on.

Well now I don’t feel so bad. My reluctance to hand out bad karma make me feel like I have “sucker” written on my forehead. I really, really, REALLY don’t wanna…but I also don’t enjoy getting scammed either. Just last week, I bit the bullet and left bad karma for the “trade” (one way, on my part) from MARCH, and I’m about at the end of my rope with two others. I am NEVER shipping first again, lol. Ahhh, tantrum over…I feel better now. : P

As I wrote to Grace, I really wish we, as a community, could do more about swaplifting. The karma rule works, but then NOTHING goes anywhere. What could we do to insure things get to their new owners (on both ends!)?
