So, I’m not sure if this is the place to ask, but I’m going to go ahead and ask for some feedback. I will give you a little bit of background first too. I gained about 25 pounds this year because of depression and jumped from a size 4 to a size 8. I have just found out that I am pregnant with my first child and my question is will I bounce back to a 4 or should I just cut my losses altogether and get rid of most things? I know that I am bound to gain 20-25 more pounds because that is the average for a healthy pregnancy. In the midst of all this I am moving into a larger apartment and attempting to downsize a lot of my things to make way for baby. I just don’t want to hold onto these clothes if my waist is never going to be 27 inches again. It seems pointless and I’d rather cut my losses now. I know everyone’s body is different, but I was just curious as to what kind of feedback the mom’s have on here. I do plan to exercise minimally throughout my pregnancy and eat healthy as well as exercise after baby and breastfeed. (They say that helps drop the weight) Altamonte Springs, Florida |

I’d say hold on to your fave items and clothes. It is highly likely and possible that you will go back to your original size, especially if you are motivated too. The only thing I will add is that it is possible that certain parts of your body may change their shape a bit (my kids were big and high so now my rib cage is a bit more pronounced and I can’t wear some of the same button down or small tops I could before). I personally went even smaller for a while in between my two! Now…..not so much! Anyhow, feel free to pm me if you ever want to talk or have more questions (my kids are 8 & almost 4) where it is hot and cold in the same season!, |

I personally have never gotten back to my original size. :(. Not saying it is impossible, but I agree that you should maybe keep the things you love. Another thing to think about is are the clothes going to be in style still when you are back to that size. It’s tuff, but be realistic especially if you are already 4 sizes larger you will be lucky to get back to the size 8 in the months after birth. Hope this helps. Ps. I’m prego too so if you need any advice or support just message me, I have been there 2x already. :) Fort Collins, Colorado |

Congrats on your pregnancy! I would also agree and say to keep your favs. While your body will be different, there’s a chance you’ll bounce back. Being a mom is a busy job so you burn calories without even thinking. I gained 50+lbs during pregnancy, and now i’m within 8lbs of my original weight and wear “most” of my pre-prego days. There are some pants that are tighter than i like, but tops are all good :) Gresham, OR |
