I’ve been noticing a good few complaints – why not put them all in the same place? For example, one person was interested in doing a trade with me, knowing I was only lusting after a single thing they had. They traded it to someone else, and are still wanting me to pick something of theirs to trade. DUH! Interlachen, Florida |

We’re not going to tell you guys not to post in this thread, ya know, because the 1st amendment protects y’all and all that… However, please try to contact the alleged rotten apple first and make certain that they’re worthy of being in the wall of shame before doing so. Sometimes it may not be intentional. Also, Rebecca posted the incident without posting the person’s name. That’s a better strategy since maybe the person who did her wrong will now see it and apologize/not do it again/send her cookies. Preferrably all of the above. And remember, you can always report the incident to us so we can look into it. San Francisco, CA |

I like the idea of it being nameless, yes. If the person sees it, they may realize their mistake. They may also carry on without a clue. Who knows? Interlachen, Florida |

UPDATE: As the unofficial Rehash “police” I have completed some of my preliminary investigations into how to go after Swaplifters. I have started the process and if all goes well, I will post an article on how to reap justice on the not-so-nice people that sneak in here and steal from us. I will not mention names, only procedures. Please keep in mind, these will only be suggestions from me and are not condoned or affiliated with Rehash or any of it’s employees. Also, this is not official legal advice and you need to check the specific laws and guidelines for your states. Okay, now that I think I’ve gotten all the disclaimers out of the way, stay tuned for more info… Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

I had totally given up on one disappeared Rehasher last fall (after badgering the crap out of her for months), then out of the blue she sent me the item—the very nicest thing I’ve gotten on Rehash. Then, a couple of months ago, I was the person who disappeared on two people for a while. But when I shipped I put tons of bonus items in as an apology for their patience. May I humbly suggest that we all need a little grace sometimes, accompanied by periodic friendly nagging. With that said, I’ve never had anyone permanently flake. So maybe I’m just naive and I’ll be bitter later. (Generally, bitterness is my m.o. and BFF; I’m shocking even myself with all this love and togetherness.) You’re all incredibly good people. I know you’ll reserve the NAMBLA magazine subscriptions for the real thieves. Asheville, NC |

Laura, you’re a dear. But the three (3) Swaplifters I have singled out for this test run are in excess of 6 months in arrears. I am sure you will agree this is not an instance of “extenuating circumstances.” Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

In that case, it’s probably safe to sign them up for some flatulence relief pamphlets. Since it will probably happen to me eventually, I’m eager to read your suggestions. Asheville, NC |
