I want to hold a community swap party. I need your advice and ideas on how to make this run smoothly. I have looked at someones post here in the forums, have an idea for like the invitations and such. 1. I have a place to do it. 2. It suggests that you get tickets for everything you bring (based on value), and can spend those on other people’s items. I am wondering if that concept is not worth the work. 3. I am also trying to figure out how to navigate everyone elses items, do I need to keep an eye on mine? So…..any ideas would be welcomed. I am buying my first home this summer, and do not want to take my huge box of rehash items with me. So I am hoping this will be a good way to get rid of a lot. Manzanola, CO |

Did you have any luck gettin something started? The only swap party I have been to, the 5 of us just dumped our bags on the floor and dug through. Much more informal! It was less of a swap and more of a take. Meaning we didn’t do item for item from one another but just whatever we wanted from anyone. I didn’t get too much because my style and size was quiet different than the others at the time. I’d say start with people you are at least familiar with and that have clothes you’ve eyed before and are within a close size of one another. Then just get some drinks and have fun! where it is hot and cold in the same season!, |
