So true! Out of the things I currently have in my hands that were NOT local trades, I have spent a whole $25. Considering what I have right now, that is about $1.50 each, regardless of condition, size, brand, ANYTHING. You can’t get that at a thrift store. You can’t get that ANYWHERE. I am saving money, saving time spent at stores, saving being limited by the styles available in my area, saving sweatshop workers, and saving clothes from needlessly rotting away in the back of someone’s closet. How green is that?? =DD

I have spent maybe $16, but thats just cause I use stamps lol. I am pretty good at guessing how many stamps to place and try not to exceed the 13 ounce limit of air transport.

That is so true Jenny. I LOVE most of the items I received. 99% of the items :) I have spent A LOT on shipping since Jan. but I wouldn’t have spent that much in the stores. I would have definitely spent double or triple on what I have received here so far. Plus, I have gotten rid of my items that I don’t use for things I would use. PLUS my items have gotten good homes. I love recycling and the friendly people on here. Anyhow, I’m just cutting down on rehashing because I’ve been unemployed for AWHILE now :) AMANDA- I like how you use just a couple stamps. I can NEVER do that. It doesn’t work for me. Somehow you just seem to be lucky :)

Haha, I have no clue how to do that. As Henley knows – I tried!

lol I have a weird weight system because I don’t have a actual thing that measures weight.

Small Peanut Butter Jar – 4 Stamps Two cans of Soda – 3 Stamps One paper back book – 2 Stamps Light shirt – 1 Stamp

lol that is how I measure.

Amanda,

Just so you know for future stamping endeavors: 1 stamp =/= light shirt. You sent my two silk camis with one first class stamp (.42), and it came today $1.50 postage due. So, 1 light shirt = approximately $1.00

Amanda:

I’m not trying to be malicious in anyway, just want to inform you. $0.42 is for basically really light items…i.e. letters, and cards. I sent a long sleeve shirt first class, in a bubble envelope, for $2.36 (not including the Delivery Confrimation). Oh, don’t forget to add an ounce or two for the packaging itself (depending on what the packaging includes…Plain envelopes, bubble envelope, bubble wrap, etc). It depends on the thickness/ weight of the fabric, I guess, but no shirt is going to cost only $0.42 to mail. I’ll give you the link for the USPS rate page later because I have to go soon. Or maybe someone else wouldn’t mind posting it while I’m gone?

I did get your shirt (said postage due on the envelope) about 10 min ago, but haven’t had a chance to open it yet. I don’t really mean to attack you, like I said, just wanted to inform you to check out the USPS rate site and maybe re-evaluate your stamp system a little. I know it can be hard to figure out rates sometimes, especially if you’re just starting out. When I was first starting out on eBay years ago…I miscalculated the shipping on a huge box of cassette tapes. I put very cheap shipping charges in my ad and had to eat the difference. I learned a little from that mistake, lol!

Thanks ladies. Yeah, I wasn’t trying to be malicious either. Just trying to let Amanda and anyone else know, because I know there are others that try to do their own postage to save a (yet another) trip to the PO. That’s why I always go to the PO, unless I am literally only sending a letter.
