Hmm, I definitely understand that whole thing about work and stuff. Me, however I made the jump from 16 to 00 in less than two months if I remember correctly. It was on a whim. Then again, I’m crazy and trust my body to be resilient. Maybe, too trusting. ::shrug::

I wouldn’t recommend my method, quite painful. No regrets though. =D

WOW, that sounds really scary. I’m surprised you didn’t have a blow out. I take it you didn’t have it dermal punched either? I see so many of them in the high school because the kids are trying to get as high of a gauge as quickly as possible to rebel.

Nope, no dermal punch. Did it all my self with warm water, soap, and lots of disinfectant. =P
I did it in 3 jumps. 22 to 6, 6 to 2, and 2 to 0. Waited like 2 to 3 weeks in between each to allow healing. There was a bit of blood and it was painful, especially the first jump from 22 to 6. Ridiculous. After that, I learned the trick to doing it smoothly without rupturing the skin. Then when I was at 0, the sheer weight of the earrings inadvertently stretched me to 00. Funny thing, I bought the 00 taper and it just slid right through, painlessly.
I’ll admit I may have been a little impatient (it’s my nature) and certainly would not suggest it as a first option for people interested in gauging their ears. However, with lots of precaution and care it is possible to make the jump to 00 in less than two months.

Eeep. Have you worn the Kaoz silicone tunnels before? Everyone I’ve asked seems to swear by them for larger gages, and they sound wonderful.
