Ok, so I do some trading on Swapstyle. I also do some selling there too. (I’m a college student. All my money comes from scholarships and a part-time job.) So a couple weeks ago I sold a top to this chicka and simply mailed it out the next day, without insurance or DC. I simply can’t afford little extras like this and I’ve never had a problem with the USPS. Until now. The girl contacted me today, swearing up and down that she has never received her item. (Which, she might not have, it happens.) But since I didn’t get DC or insurance, I can’t prove it and I’ve asked her to wait until Saturday for the package. If it still hasn’t returned by then, I’ll refund her money. I just can’t help but feel I’m being scammed here. Maybe I’m being silly. She has all positive tokens. I’m just super concerned. I’ve never had anything lost in the mail before and it’s freaking me out. And I’ve never been scammed before either, I’m happy to say. What do you veterans think? Am I feeling nervy for no reason? I guess it depends on the price and her reputation. I personally have had items lost and ended up agreeing on half as I was out the items and they were out the money. They were very understanding and it worked out for us both. They are taking a risk as well as you. If they wanted to make sure it arrived they should have bought insurance from you. Hope this helps a bit. :) Fort Collins, Colorado |

That does help a bit, Lenna, thank you. From now on I’m going to use DC on packages more often. As for my situation, I actually got the package I mailed to the girl back yesterday. It seems the address I was provided was an old address and the mail fowarding setup to the new one had expired. I think I’m going to try to mail it out again, with the money for shipping covered this time. Irvine, Ca |

I’m glad it worked out. We always think the worst possible scenario and its nice when it turns out to be false. :) Fort Collins, Colorado |
