This is a good question. I would see if either party had a verifiable reputation on another similar site, then use that data for, at least partially, for deciding who should send first. I am new here, however I have a good amount of verifiable feedback on other swapping sites. I have no problem sending first with veteran swappers, but a newbie w/ no nothing anywhere, I would prefer they send first. Of course some ppl could be sneaky and say “oh yeah, I’m over at abcswapping.com as so-an-so” and you go look at so-an-so’s profile, sure enough, 100% good reputation..BUT to be safe, I would want to verify that the person claiming to be that person actually is that person, and not just a scammer who browsed and found a name with a good reputation to mention. Far fetched maybe, most ppl out there are good, but you gotta be careful. It also depends on the items being traded, trading a pair of socks for a t-shirt isn’t going to create a huge loss if one party turns out to be a thief. And sometimes losing $1.50 in postage and a shirt is worth it to expose someone who is dishonest before they steal something more valuable. Virginia |

yep, you have to be willing to take a chance sometimes. So of course it’s not a good idea for two newbies to start off swapping for expensive items. Start with lesser valued items so the stakes are less. Virginia |
