This is just a topic I wanted to get other opinions/perspectives on. So you trade with someone, who for some reason doesn’t ship before or at the same time as you. And then when they get your stuff, they decide to send your stuff back to you instead of sending their stuff. I think we’ve all gotten items that didn’t fit, was in a little poorer condition than we thought, etc. It’s kind of hard to allow for that sort of thing when you don’t see the item until you get it, except in photographs. (If the items are drastically different from what you thought you were getting, damaged etc…that’s what Negative Karma is for.) I think it’s kind of cruel to agree to send something that someone wants and then change your mind, for whatever reason, and then not send it. For instance, I just traded for a pair of shoes that, upon seeing them, I decided I might never wear. But I’m still going to send the girl her stuff. And I think we’ve all suffered from “buyer’s remorse”, too. With this website, that would be trading for things we thought we wanted. There’s nothing wrong with the item, it just turns out we didn’t want it as much as we thought we did. If it had been gotten this new in a store it could be returned for a refund, etc. But ladies (and gentleman) we are trading for “used” goods here. Used of course meaning that they’ve had a previous owner, not necessarily that they have been worn, used, etc. And I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed, but thrift stores like the Goodwill, etc. do NOT allow returns for any item bought there, regardless of their condition. But then again, I suppose returns here on Rehash could be worked on between individuals on a trade-by-trade basis. I’m not suggesting a “No Returns” rule. Personally I just feel that all you can do with items you’re less than satisfied with is Rehash them, give them away or donate them and carry on. And I really would like to have the items I was expecting to get. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Irvine, Ca |

Hey, Goodwill does accept returns within 7 days and still have to have the tags on it.. but thats besides the point! I think thats rediculous that someone sent ur package back instead of sending their end? Id leave a negative. Ive received stuff that didnt fit me, etc.. I just give it to my mom or my sister in that case… or swap it again.. Im sorry that happened to you! Are you sure they sent it back? Maybe they just didnt pick it up at the PO in time.. usually things are shipped back after so long… I dunno. Hope you work things out with the user! |

Oh, it’s the same user that swaplifted me (and you), so…I feel there is little chance of that getting resolved. But we shall see. And thanks for the info about the Goodwill. The one closest to me has a no return policy. Maybe it varies from store to store. I’ll have to keep that in mind. Irvine, Ca |

I dont think people should expect returns on any swap site, you run the risk when you swap of getting something you may decide later you dont want, the color was not right, did not fit right, etc. I never leave negative feedback, except as a LAST choice. I have received tons of items that I do not end up using or even look @ again, or I swap the items, and I dont leave bad feedback. I leave positive if I receive my items in a good amount of time, good communication etc. But, as I said, people should not expect returns and should not return the item you sent without sending their end. I have had that happen to me before on Makeupalley. Blanco, TX |

I wouldn’t mind returns so much, if both parties agree to it. But I just had someone want me to pay them cash for their return. I though rehash was supposed to be free. If you return something to a store, do you ask them to pay for your mileage both ways? Germantown, MD |

If you return something to a store, do you ask them to pay for your mileage both ways? Rehash is suppose to be free. If someone wants to return items, and you both agree to it, then you should both pay your own shipping :) I just don’t like it when you have sent your package, and they wait(but were not suppose to) to ship your package until they receive yours, then decide they dont want the swap afterall, and ship your original items back. Whew!.... Blanco, TX |
