hi waves I am new here and I do not yet undersatnd the purpose of someone “watching” your item. If they like the item why would they not make an offer or send you a message about liking the item? Is it my duty to contact them? Thanks! Dacula, GA |

hi waves I am new here and I do not yet undersatnd the purpose of someone “watching” your item. If they like the item why would they not make an offer or send you a message about liking the item? Is it my duty to contact them? Thanks! Hello and welcome :) Watching items is an easy way to keep tabs on things you like and see who’s interested in your stuff. Personally, if I see something I would love to have I watch it and send the other person a message. If something is cute, but not an item I need at the moment then I’ll just watch it, no message, just so I don’t forget about it. It is not your duty to contact others who are interested in your things, but it would be to your advantage to check their lists and if you see something you like, get in touch with them. Some people prefer others to just make offers and others prefer a message to touch base instead… do what works for you. Pittsburgh, PA |

OK, maybe I am weird but the watching thing kind annoys me. People watch my items but won’t accept any offers. I wish I could delete watchers! Dacula, GA |

Another benefit of [you] watching items comes into play after you receive the stuff from the trade… you can compare the item to the description. So say you were supposed to get an item that was in “Excellent” condition and it arrives with a hole and stains that weren’t mentioned, you could take it up with the other person. Pittsburgh, PA |

It’s a good way to find new swaps; go ahead, make an offer or ask a question. The ice-breaker is the “watch.” Las Vegas, NV |

Its also a good way to see who has what you want the most :) If 4 people are ‘watching’ my item but no one has contacted me or made an offer, I will go through each of their item list and offer one of them a swap. If they decline then I can try the next person and so forth. BLYTHE, CA |
