Hey you guys :) Girls I mean =D I’m going on a road trip starting this june and have not made decisions about everywhere we’re going yet, but it’s going to kind of be like a year on the road! I’m curious to know if there are any cool places each person thinks I should check out while traveling! Like, in your state or something you just know of? I’m so excited for this and would love to see all the cool, interesting, and weird places in the US I havnt seen yet! So far, I know I want to see these: Mall of America Winchester House in CS(sp?) B&B where Lizzie Borden’s family lived and died Salem, Mass(for the witch trials, etc) Grand Canyon Yellowstone New Orleans Need help thinking of places, I wanted to ask the awesome ladies and guys on here :) Blanco, TX |

I live in PA and suggest you get to Ohiopyle State Park during one of the warmer months. It’s absolutely beautiful and relatively famous for the white water rafting (which is amazingly fun!). Also, if you’re interested in architecture a few of Frank Lloyd Wright’s houses are in the area including Falling Water. http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/parks/ohiopyle.aspx And if you make it through Pittsburgh, while they’re not particularly famous or anything, I quite love the zoo and a little art museum called The Mattress Factory. :) |

I LOVE New Orleans (and most of the South in general). I’ve only been on the East Coast, so I can only offer great advise for here :-) Think about WHY you want to go. Quiet and relaxing? A smaller community on the Outer Banks would be very nice. Food? Louisiana. History? DC. DC also ahs a crazy amount of museums and sites, that are all FREE! NYC is always fun. New England is really fun, but expensive and very buggy. South Carolina has some wonderful B&Bs and Florida is just plain fun all around. Germantown, MD |

A great resource for making your road trip FUN and affordable is this website. My husband and I have been members for 3 years (just add ”/marulatree” to the end of the URL to see our profile) and we have had nothing but amazing experiences and made lots of great friends! Even if you don’t “surf” at a member’s home, you can connect with the “locals” who will help you make the most of your trip. Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |
