i’m hoping somebody had a suggestion for a little problem here: gladiz and i made a trade and i sent my end first about 3 weeks ago, but she hasn’t received it. i didn’t get DC b/c it was two pairs of earrings that fit in a regular white envelope and they don’t let you do DC on those. but i have a receipt, and she believes me that i shipped. apparently there is another rehasher who also sent her something in a regular envelope and she hasn’t received that one either, but believes that the rehasher did in fact ship it. so i guess the question here is what are our options? if she holds up her end and sends me the rings, then i get something and she gets nothing, and that’s not fair. if she doesn’t, then i am out two pairs of earrings without having received anything in return, and that’s not fair either. does anyone have any ideas of what we can do in this situation? any suggestions would be appreciated! |

Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do but potentially submit a “missing mail” form to the US Postal service. When you don’t use delivery confirmation, you run the risk of things like this happening. It’s like a crap shoot. I tell people all the time ALWAYS use delivery confirmation. Also, earrings in a regular white envelope will end up shattered because regular mail goes through a press. I’ve learned that one the hard way too. JACKSONVILLE, FL |

i normally always get DC, but they wouldn’t let me for the envelope. fortunately they were pretty small, flat earrings and i did wrap them in a few layers of bubble wrap so if they ever surface hopefully they will be in one piece. i’ll take you up on that filling out the missing mail form idea. anyone have any suggestions of what we should do about our trade? |

huh, i am not sure…i wanted to comment on a similar sit. but reversed. i received an envelope in a postal bag with “apologies” because the item tore a hole and fell out. i said i would ship her end anyway since it was small and i didn’t want bad karma. now i can’t find the item for her end!! i offered her to pick something else but she didn’t see anything she wanted. i shouldn’t get bad karma for this right, i mean i didn’t give her bad. stuff happens… where it is hot and cold in the same season!, |

Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do but potentially submit a “missing mail” form to the US Postal service. I think I should do this since it’s happened twice and I know both of the packages came from honest girls. Could I do this online? Do we both fill it one out? Or the person that sent? Receiver? |

I mailed 2 large bubble envelope packages once and neither recipient said they received them. Totally sucked. I filled out the forms at the post office and basically nothing came of it. I had sold the items on (ebay) and had the receipt to prove I mailed, but unfortunately I did not do a DC. Luckily the people were very understanding and I refunded 1/2 their money as I was out the product and they were out the money. They were fine since they did not request a DC and I did have proof I mailed. Anyways, long story short the Post office did nothing even after filling out the forms. I just think they were stolen. :-( Fort Collins, Colorado |

I’ve had two packages disappear coming to me. I blame it on my post office. Once I did the lost mail request and it finally came through….all busted up with a tire mark on it! I also had a package, coincidentally from Gladiz, where the earrings weren’t secured, jumbled around, and punctured the package. But I also had a lady say her package never got there, and I didn’t get DC. A month later she rehashed the items she said she never got! ugh. The moral of my story is… if it’s not of enough value to put in a bubble mailer on which you can get DC, I wouldn’t be too sad, you didn’t lose too much. One anything else, get DC! It’s totally worth the .70 to be able to know exactly where the package is and whether someone got it. And secure jewelry & sharp items :-) Germantown, MD |

I also had a package, coincidentally from Gladiz, where the earrings weren’t secured, jumbled around, and punctured the package. So sorry about that. I naively thought that small packages would be better taken care off. I learned my lesson after the third time this happened :-P |

The missing mail forms are available at the post office. I’ve actually had a package recovered by using them. I’m not entirely sure if they are available online. JACKSONVILLE, FL |
