does it usually take people days to reply back to a message? or are they just thinking it over, and seeing if they would like to trade? I’m just wondering if this is the norm or if i should move on and look for other trades? thank you! -J

There is a huge issue here IMO with reading messages and not responding.

Yes, people do have a problem with reading and then proceeding to ignore or forget to reply at all. No idea why. Some people do it accidently, I can understand, because I’ve had literally 20 emails here about one item. But I dont like it when people just outright ignore you. Horrible manners.

the people on here really vary in terms of what they are doing with their lives. some work during the day and have families to come home to at night, so they are not on rehash every day, maybe not even every week. there are other people who are on here all the time. check the person’s profile and see what their level of involvement with rehash is. check their karma to see how often they trade. see if they have been online recently. hopefully something will give you an idea of how often they are online.

my advice, which i follow myself, is: don’t be offended if it takes people a while to write back. not everyone can just drop their lives to respond to rehash messages. and some people just forget, especially if they are receiving a lot of messages in a short period of time, some get lost in the mix. so send them a reminder or follow-up and hopefully you will hear back =]

i may come on here quickly and check my offers and messages, but i dont always have time to decide what i want to write back or go through someones list of a ton of things. that just takes too long. i try to write back to let them know ill get back to them since it seems ppl dont want to wait a little while for a reply. i work 13 hour days on my feet, so i dont always have a lot of time. guess it just depends tho. ppl have ignored me. it does really bother me tho

It happens… I’m definitely guilty of it. I’ll totally forget about a message if I open it and don’t know exactly what to say to someone at that precise moment. Normally I’ll go off and do something else to mull it over, but sometimes I will forget entirely and then I’ll get a message along the lines of “HEY! What’s going on?” Lol, I’m scatterbrained with everything though, so then I just feel really bad. I think it also gets difficult when you have a ton of things being rehashed all at once. I try not to exceed 30 because I think that’s a good amount to look through without getting frustrated and a good amount to keep track of my watchers. Best of luck to you! (There are people who will intentionally ignore your message or take forever to respond, but I think personality is a big play in how everything is perceived. It’s very hard to understand a person via text or get an idea of what they’re feeling. Some people are just more personable than others. I have my favorites. )
