So just joined and excited to list items to swap, but reading some forums how do you know who is going to be trustworthy and who not to trust? Seems like a lot of names to keep track of who not to swap with. Is there an easier way? Marion, Iowa |

I would say as a newbie, avoid swapping with people with less than 70 karma, just until you rack up some karma. That’s what I did on makeupalley and I haven’t been swaplifted! Fort Worth, Tx |

I think thats a really good tip Sandy! Most people have been very honest traders but a few have been less than ideal to trade with… I wish I would have thought to do that when I started here:-) The Woodlands, Texas |

That is a good tip! (Except now I have to rack up 40 more karma to get trades!) Haha! I would also suggest after you have a few trades under your belt, when you’re looking to trade with someone look at their karma and who it’s from. I did that. If I saw people I’d done trades with leaving good karma for the person (recently), then I felt like they were probably worth giving a shot. If I had any doubts, I even asked the people I’d done trades with, “hey, how was your trade with so and so?” |

Yeah, just for the first like 5 or so trades, be very wary. Then, start making trades with people that are reputable, don’t have their names in the swaplifter thread, and have really good feedback from a variety of people. Fort Worth, Tx |
