I may just be slow on the uptake, but I just discovered the most amazing hangers EVER! They are Slimline flocked hangers and they take up 1/4 of the space of the thinnest plastic hanger on the market. I refuse to hang my clothes on wire hangers to save space and instead cram my clothes into a too small space, wrinkling and sometimes damaging delicate shoulder seams, knits, etc. Last night, I was at Bed Bath & Beyond using my Birthday gift card and stumbled upon these hangers – box of 50 is $39.95. I spent about 30 minutes rearranging my clothes. To my sheer job and amazement, I had room for ALL for clothes and everything lay neatly and uncrumpled in a pretty little row. The flocking keeps your clothes from slipping off and the thoughtful shape doesn’t distort the natural line of your shirts. Seriously, these are the Holy Grail of closet accessories. My only complaint is that the skirt clips aren’t available in the store. I have only been able to find them online and the shipping is ridiculous! If anyone knows where I can get these or wants to trade me, let me know…. oh yeah, I have boxes and boxes of plastic hangers if anyone needs some. LOL

Box of 50…for $39.95?! Bah, I paid quite a bit (can’t remember exact price…need to dig out the invoice) for only 36, a couple months ago. Oh, but mine came with a spiffy box , etc. Ha ha! Yes, I’m special :P

I can’t believe that there wouldn’t be one store where you live that sells the clips. Have you checked other sites aside from B, B, and B (I assume you have…probably a dumb question…I’m out of it)?

My hangers did come in a spiffy box with a handle and everything!
My whining is that if I had known about the hangers beforehand, I could have ordered them directly from the manufacturer online. Shipping is free for orders over $150. Since the packs of 50 hangers run $40-50 each and the skirt clips come in packs of 18 for $15 (and I need like 5 packs) , I would have easily spent that amount AND gotten my clips. Now, if I want the clips, I have to pay shipping… BLAH.

Any preference for hanger color or style? I have lots of white ones and if my shopping excursion this weekend for skirt hanger clips is successful, I will also have those plastic skirt hangers that retail stores use.

You know, Jenny, I’d never even been to that site. Duh:P Now I know where to look first (when I get more money to plop down on hangers), instead of buying those certain name brand hangers that cost more. Did you ever go out and buy the clips? I only got 6 with the ones I bought, otherwise I’d gladly give you some. My mom used to have some, but when I inquired about them she stated “I think I threw them out”. What the heck?! Why would she do that? Sheesh!

I have a box of my old hangers (wire, plastic, and even a wooden one)left over too. If I ever get more of the slimline hangers I’ll have even more to get rid of. Right now my closet consists of mostly the slimline hangers, but I still have some clothes hanging on the wire or plastic ones (wow, what an interesting conversation…about hangers. He he ;) ).

I’m absolutely certain that there is a conversation happening about hangers right this second in the Product Planning Departments of several large clothing and/or housewares manufacturers! Since I work at a behemoth vehicle manufacturer, I know that there is really nothing too inane when it comes to encouraging consumers to BUY.
