So, aside from the ridiculous percentage of fees Ebay takes from selling high priced items, Ebay blocks sellers from leaving buyers negative feedback. Say a transaction was cancelled by the buyer, and I comply with it, the buyer can still leave negative feedback, but I can’t leave negative feedback for them. Buyers don’t understand that feedback is what keeps Ebay alive, much like Karma here at Rehash. I’m sick of Ebay and about to throw in the towel. Fort Worth, Tx |

Totally agree. I sold something and the buyer was an a** he was so difficult, I even gave him a partial refund which I should not have and he still left me neutral feedback. I basically could not let everyone know how conniving he was and to be aware. Totally sucks and is unfair. I feel your pain. Fort Collins, Colorado |

I concur, not only does eBay take fees but paypal takes even more fees! What does paypal take fees for?? I had stopped using them because I had a lot of trouble with them. I recently opened up a new account though. WACO, Texas |

Oh paypal definitely gets you in the drive-thru. They take I think 3% of the total transaction. What really pisses me off is that Ebay OWNS paypal. So you get hit twice. Once for Ebay fees, then again for using paypal, which “of course” is Ebay’s preferred method of payment. Jackholes. JACKSONVILLE, FL |

Yeah, it’s ridiculous. AND, when you’re a new seller on Ebay, PayPal holds funds in your account, so if you’re like me, and rely on selling online for a temporary source of income, them holding money is a big deal. And it’s not like they release it as soon as it’s delivered either, you have to wait 3-5 days after the package gets delivered, to receive your money. THEN, you can’t apply for the debit card for 2 months, so you have to transfer your money from PayPal to your bank account, which takes ANOTHER 3-5 days…it’s bogus. Fort Worth, Tx |

When I first started out to many packages ‘never arrived’ for it to be coincidence. It made me very distrusting of people. |

Yeah man, check out these feedback I got. SELLER IS A LIAR WHO ENDED UP SELLING ITEM TO ANOTHER BUYER!!! Buyer: pincdelphinus ( 17) May-14-11 10:47 Reply by dbacks690 (May-14-11 12:22): If I was a liar, I would have taken your money. I am an honest Ebayer. I paid for the shoes never got them Buyer: junebugsgirl28630 ( 10) May-10-11 20:25 Reply by dbacks690 (May-10-11 21:23): You requested a refund! Why would I ship if you want your money back?? seller canceled transaction stating she no longer had the pants.dishonest seller Buyer: tearin889 ( 6 ) Mar-24-11 17:50 Reply by dbacks690 (Mar-25-11 13:42): You’d rather me take payment for something I don’t have? This makes no sense. The first one, was for a purse that my dog actually mangled, so I explained to the buyer what happened (I ended the auction early, but had to click sell early, and the buyer had not paid, and wouldn’t have won it if I let the auction go to the end), and she said that I sold it to another buyer, made NO SENSE! The second one, was for a pair of Converse. Two days after the auction ended, the buyer paid and then the next day, she asked me for a refund because she had changed her mind and would go buy some at the store herself. She hadn’t even given me time to ship (my regulations say I have a handling time of 3 days before shipping), and then left bad feedback! I gave her money back and everything, and she still snubbed me. The third one, was for a pair of jeans, that my sister swooped in and took back from me, so I explained to the buyer that I no longer had them, but offered to give her a pair of identical pants, and she refused, even though she hadn’t even paid yet. I should have just shipped the identical pants, but I was trying to be honest with her. She gave me negative feedback anyway..ugh Buyers shouldn’t be able to leave neg feedback once a sale has been cancelled.. Fort Worth, Tx |

Agreed, it’s quite irksome. Ebay is not the free market place that it once was, and paypal fees are certainly much higher than they used to be. Are there any other payment services that other have found reliable and affordable? Manchester, New Hampshire |

Jackholes. In addition to Ebay owning PayPal, Ebay not only charges you for the initial auction posting fee, but they hit you on the backend with the final value fees including shipping fees. I don’t believe it used to be this way. I believe they used to charge your final value fee based on the item only, not shipping too. Now they’ve included shipping in that “final value fee”. Paypal hits you again when someone pays and they hit you on shipping as well. If you charge low shipping fees or the cost of your item is low, you pretty much OWE ebay money after the auction is all said and done. You don’t make anything. It’s getting pretty shitty over there…I agree. :-( TURLOCK, CA |
