Not getting enough trade requests or interest in your items? Here are some pointers!

A. First and foremost, how are your rehash images?! The image is the main attraction, so here’s what you do:

1. Clean an area so you won’t have clutter/loud background in your pictures. The best area is a nice clean stretch of floor, your bed or put a hook on your wall to display clothes on hangers. 2) Use a neutral, solid-color background. It’s really hard to focus on the item when your zebra print or tie-dye blanket (no matter how cute!) is the background! 3) LIGHT! very important! Open all your curtains! Daytime is best! If it’s night, turn on your lights and bring in others so the room is as well lit as possible. You want to AVOID using the FLASH on your camera if at all possible. 4) Point and shoot! Get your item from a pleasing, tell-all angle. For a top, for example, take the picture from directly above so that the shape, color and details are all in one shot. Get the picture close enough to show detail – the item being showcased should make up at least 75% of the area of your picture! 5) Use the macro setting on your camera (if possible) to zoom in on details/textures, etc. List the full view of the item first (as the main pic) and the rest after.

B. Your rehash title! You should ideally state this info in your title for maximum impact and viewing ease.

Title format: [BRAND] 2-4 word descriptor [SIZE].

1. SIZE – very important!!! Ideally you would abbreviate size as XS, S, M, etc (or use 0, 1, 2 etc) and put it at the end of your title. 2) Brand – people often look for their favorite brands 3) Short description – keep it simple! For example, “boho tunic” or “skinny jeans”

C. Your profile information: short but helpful.

1) Introduce yourself, be friendly: Hi I’m __! I’m a psychologist from CA and love dogs! 2) Wish list 3) Shipping days or other info relevant to your swaps.

D. Keep active and respect others.

1) Post in the forums! 2) Upload new items! 3) Send friend requests and trade offers! 4) ANSWER YOUR MESSAGES, even if you just need to say, “no thanks!”

E. Rehash DONTS

1) Don’t send trade offers for items others aren’t watching or wishing for. 2) Don’t ignore messages or trade requests – it’s easy to say, “no thanks” or “I’m not accepting offers right now”. 3) Don’t hound someone if they don’t want to swap with you! 4) Don’t lose the items on your list! 5) Don’t lie about item condition, shipping dates, etc!

Would love for others to add tips below!

This is great Kitty. The one tip I would add would be to maybe add one or two words about color in the title. And in the description, make sure you tell if things look different from the picture to real life (ie much lighter, much darker, etc).

And please add size to your title!
