Does anyone have a favorite recipe they use to whip up a homemade beverage? I just discovered the wonder of Cordial’s. I made raspberry mint last night. To make about a quart You’ll need: 1 cup sugar 2 cups fresh raspberries 1 1/2 cup water Handful fresh mint leaves Small sause pan Strainer for seeds

1.) Combine sugar and water to a boil. Be sure to continuously whisk it so that you do not burn the sugar. 2.) Squeeze raspberries so that they are a pulp and and add the mint leaves. Boil for about 20 mins or until everything is mostly dissolved. 3.) Strain the seeds. Now you can bottle and store for about 2 weeks.

I used this to make raspberry mojitos. You can also add it to lemonade or a variety of other things.

I maserated some fresh raspberries for lemonade for the kids the other day. It was goooood….must admit that it needed some vodka or tequila or something grown up-ish!

Thank you so much for the recipe! Raspberries are just coming into season, but this year has been insane with blueberries. So, I subbed out the raspberries for blueberries, and subbed out the mint for a half peeled root of ginger. It’s blowing my mind!

Ohhh… the ginger root sounds good. I wonder how it would be with blackberries.

I made a recipe called “date roll” or “snowball”. With equal parts mejool dates ( which grow in clusters on a palm tree: didn’t know this until I just looked it up to double check the spelling!) raw almonds, raisins, coconut. Process for a while until its smooth. I think I added a very small amount of water. Roll in coconut if you like. I chose to eat by the spoonful! Protien, fiber, vitamins and minerals…a fun snack!

Is that where dates come from? I always thought they were a type of fig or something… learn something new every day, I suppose! I love dates, but am allergic to almonds. Do you think it would turn out alright with pumpkin or sunflower seeds?

D, I think you could def swap out the almonds! I’d be interested hearing what you try. I know this post was originally for drinks, but I want to share this too: yesterday we had a bday party for our dog and wanted to make a dog friendly and yummy for humans too. So we made a Peanutbutter Carrot Carob Cake that came out great! Delicious, moist, healthy and super easy to make! Preheat oven to 350 1 c ap flour 1 tsp baking powder Mix together in a bowl…add 1/4 c PB any style 1 cup shredded carrots 1 egg 1/4 c oil 1/3 c honey 1 tsp vanilla 1 c carob chips (this was my personal addition) Pour into a greased 8” cake pan and bake for 30 min. Cool and enjoy
