I was thinking of hosting a Secret Santa swap that is super girly and frilly.. all things awesome! One thing I have found in the past, and I guess it’s the risk you take when doing a secret swap, is that some of my items have been cheapy or blah and things that I would never use. I think for Secret Santa if you want to sign up – really take note to the person’s likes/disklikes and try to really keep them in mind! I am going to set the limit at $20.00-$25.00 – realllyy try to spend no more than this. I think I will make the deadline Dec. 3th for signup and send out no later than Dec. 10th (I know I am traveling around Xmas, as I am sure many of us are, so hopefully we can get packages to those who will not be home before they leave!.. hence the early send date! So here’s the questionnaire .. fill this out and PM it back to me.. I will send your Secret Santa to you via PM on Dec. 4th… SHHH keep it a secret!! Fav snacks? Drinks, – i.e. – coffee/tea/etc.- any allergies? Fav. shopping spots/stores? What are some of your fav. things to do in your spare time? Fav. color? Things you LOVE to receive as gifts? Things you do NOT like to recieve as gifts? Frilly girly stuff you adore/cannot get enough of? Any other extra info.: Address: |

Sign me up I have done the last two and both were pretty great not perfect but, I don’t expect perfection in this world! I would however like to have a different sender if possible. I know the last two that were sent to me were from the same person but, shhhhhh, it’s a secret! Thanks Heather!!! ;-) Winter Springs , Florida |

Although I was just swap lifted by my secret swapper I will try again. I am requesting that I get matched up with a veteran on the site as it was really disappointing to send a huge box of thoughtful items and get nothing in return. I think actually to do the secret swap there should be guidelines. (Time on site and/or certain number of swaps done). Just my opinion, I’m still pretty bitter on the experience. I am debating whether I should or should not do it because just like the previous member said, I am afraid of getting swap-lifted! One question I have, I see the limit is $20-$25 but is there a size limit? I know the last november swap was a medium flat rate box limit but that is a pretty big box and pricey just for shipping…is that mandatory or just as long as the items are equivalent to $20-$25 in total? Thanks, i’ll be thinking it over! I was thinking of hosting a Secret Santa swap that is super girly and frilly.. all things awesome! Ok, so how about a couple rules – I didn’t realise folks were having these sorts of problems on rehash. To participate.. 1) you have to have completed AT LEAST 25 swaps on Rehash (no other swap sites count), with NO negative feedbacks. If you have negative feedback on any swap you have made you will NOT be able to participate in this Secret Santa Swap. 2) Box does NOT have to be of a certain size.. I use flat rate boxes a lot of the time for conv., but understand that sometimes they can be costly..so if you have your $20-25 limit reached and everything fits into a wee little box, so be it and good for you! If you require a larger box, that is totally up to you (: I am leaving box sizes in your hands. 3) PLEASE DO NOT swaplift during a Secret Santa swap – I will be keeping a list of the swappers and partners and sending it to each and every admin on this site – if you swap lift someone during this swap action will be taken. Be polite, kind, and have fun (: |

I for one have always liked the medium size flat rate box, I don’t find it that expensive to ship plus I can stuff one of those like no-bodies business. You know how they say at the P.O. if it fits it ships? Well at the P.O. I use they joke me about if it almost fits it ships! :-D Winter Springs , Florida |

Maybe not for you, but you have to keep in mind not everyone has money lol. Like for me I am a college student who takes care of myself (rent, food, school tuition, phone, etc). Both of my parents are deceased so spending $12 on a box can be a little stiff for some people. Like Sarah said, you can always use it if you want but I don’t think it’s fair to make it a requirement for everyone. Just my opinion but everyone thinks differently. Linda, I’m a single Mom with little to no help who has been un-employed or under-employed for the last year with a car that is held together with duct-tape and chicken wire. I know everyone has a story but, most likely most all of us are in the same boat together so we might as well row in unison. I know exactly where you are coming from as far as expensive’s go. I just figure since trading is a little slower here then say “Swap Market” (sad it closed) I can afford to send a box once in awhile. The first Secret Swap I was in I even went further and sent the large flat rate box, for other reasons but, once again everyone is different and has their own limitations and there can easily be different rules or exceptions you know whatever is going to work to make it all good. Ladies – Like I said, I don’t care what type of box you use. If you chose to use a small, med, large flat rate, it does not matter to me and shouldn’t to anyone else, for that matter. Some gifts, while they may be in the $20-25 range, may not be large enough to need a med-large box.. sometimes the best packages are little things! Again, I don’t mind what box size you use as long as you stay in the $20-25.00 price range. With that said, please do not stuff a tiny box with things that won’t fit – we don’t want anyone upset or left with broken gifts, etc. Package with care, as always! |

Well I don’t agree. I don’t have any income at all only money i get from selling my stuff on Ebay which is not much. Which is why I have been a member for so long with under 40 swaps. All I said is that no one knows another person’s situation so it’s not fair to say that. I really dont think its fair that people with negatives cant participate. I have negatives due to people just being mean, not because Ive swaplifted them, heck one negative I went above and beyond with giving 3x more then what I got in return. I wouldnt be able to participate because it would be hard for me to get to a store and purchase items because I live in the country and everything is far, PO alone is nearly an hrs drive total. I just wanted to be the voice for anyone else who might have unfair negatives. I think its something to rethink. Aguilar, CO |

Most swappers with negative tokens have negative tokens for a reason. If you have tons of positive and I think you are trustworthy along with the admins, then I wouldn’t mind letting you participate. It’s to avoid swappers with several negative tokens that have actually done wrong and swaplifted, I hope you as well as others understand that. If you are not participating and live too far from a PO etc, and this would be a hard swap for you, I guess I just don’t understand where the problem lies? If you wanted to participate, there are exceptions.. like I said, but if not.. then??? |

“I just wanted to be the voice for anyone else who might have unfair negatives. I think its something to rethink.” Im wasnt trying to be rude or anything. Like I mentioned above, I was just trying to be the voice of innocent people who have unfair or explainable negatives. Youve explained now that there is certain circumstances where its allowed and that is nice to know, thank you. Aguilar, CO |
