Still searching for the holy grail of bags, eh? Sucks. |

I just realized I called it a “packpack.” Ashley, yeah… there’s always hoping someone magically finds one that would suit my needs. I have a regular ol’ bookbag, but I need something more rugged, that had proper support/straps, and can hold my water (or has a place for hydration pack). |

I recommend the Jeep brand backpacks. I have 3 or 4 of them, and they are awesome Land O Lakes, FL |

It looks like you will have to go out and buy one (unless you can find someone else local, at the last min., to give you one). Isn’t your trip coming up really soon? All I have are some book bags, not what you need. My mom says she still has the hiking bags I asked about, but “I don’t know where they are”, so I don’t think I’ll be able to help you out, unfortunately. Besides, they’re really old…probably at least 20 years (I’d say maybe more)! Yes, my family are packrats (even though they won’t admit it)! |

Kate, if carrying water is a major concern you should consider the Camelback line of packs. This is what I think you’re looking for: http://www.rei.com/product/767539 I have had several of these bags over the years for dirt bike riding and the support system was the best… had to be when you’re going 40mph over whoops! The expense is worth it. (Sorry for posting this here, but she doesn’t have a thread on backpacks! LOL) Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

Before I’d opened this post, I wasn’t sure if it was refering to the person who posted the most on this board, the post master general at the p.o., or a moderator of all things forums. How’s that for a run-on sentence. English teachers be damned. |

For the record, I shall always be the postmaster. If anyone beats me, I’ll just go in the database and increase my post counter over theirs. Muahahaha. BISCAYNE PARK, FL |

hhhmmm…maybe she should start a thread on backpacks. :) Everyone could post their suggestions on what kind/brand to get or say “Hey, I’ve got one you can use”, etc. I guess it’s already been done here though, so…nevermind :P |
