On another forum in a far-away place, mystery boxes were mentioned. It would be awesome to have one here. To give everyone who wants to a chance to take part, a maximum shipping cost should be set. (Or we could use a flat-rate box, but I was thinking more like $5.) The idea is to put something in and take something out, and just keep passing it on to the next person who wants to see if they can score some goodies. What do you think? Interlachen, Florida |

Love the idea. If we use flat rate boxes, everyone’s shipping costs would be the same and we’d be able to squeeze in lots of great stuff! Can we require that everything that is included be “excellent/like new” quality so we’re not just shipping junk back and forth across the country? Fountain Hills, AZ |

So, if I get this… it’s like an evolving chain letter (package)? You’d send me a new wallet and I’d then send Julie a white tee shirt and then she would send Christine a hat… like that? Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

More like an ever changing grab-bag. I like the idea of keeping everything Excellent or better. Is there something like a Flate Rate box from any other company (besides USPS) that is closer to $5? Interlachen, Florida |

The flat rate cardboard envelope is $4.75. If you fold your stuff carefully, put them in a plastic bag then press the air out, you can actually fit quite a few things in there. |

Having an envelope would mean we couldn’t have things that are too… 3D. =/ Interlachen, Florida |

Assuming we can fit multiple items into the envelope, should the rule be that if you take out one item, you put in one item (or more!), and if you take out 2 items, you must replace ‘em with at least 2 items? If there are several items in one envelope, recipients stand a better chance of finding something in their size. Or we could ask people to sign up in groups: size small group; size large group; one-size-fits-all stuff group, etc. Fountain Hills, AZ |

But that’s exactly my point—if you were to get an entire envelope of stuff that didn’t fit you, it would be a bummer to have to pass it along, paying postage, without having gotten anything out of it. So I’m hoping we could either divide groups by size, or enclose multiple items in multiple sizes, so participants have a better chance of receiving something that actually works for them. Well, I have just taken the first step with Laura as my willing victim. I am assembling a Mystery Box of clothing for her to go through. She can keep whatever she wants and return what she doesn’t along with whatever she thinks I might like in return. Actually, she hasn’t accepted this proposal yet, so I might be jumping the gun. But my alternative plan is to just tell her to keep it all if she doesn’t want to ship it back. Yeah, I like to gamble! Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

I am in if we can do as Jenny said and find people that match each other. I did one on swapstyle and I ended up getting all JUNK! She sent me nothing that I requested as my likes, or even in my size. She sent me coupons for a place in another state (dumb). Anyways, I always love surprises if people are willing to put some thought into it. Fort Collins, Colorado |

Anyone can ask for my special Mystery Box shipment, but I have some strict criteria for selection: (1) You must have a Bio on your profile and at least one pic of you in the gallery. This is a social website. I want you to be my “Rehash Friend”. (2) You must have completed at least two good trades with me. (3) You cannot have any negative karma. (4) You must adhere to the Informal Rules of Rehash Etiquette (coming soon to ARTICLES) Feel free to email me if you have any questions! Lomita (near Los Angeles), CA |

Having different categories sounds pretty fun! That means several would go around at a time, huh? Size categories, makeup, stuff and anything goes? Interlachen, Florida |
