Okay- so it’s not a sexy question, but inquiring minds wanna know…

I’ve been on Rehash for a couple of months and have had a couple of e-mails inquiring about items, which I try to get back to in a couple of days. (If it’s going to take me longer, I e-mail the person to tell them what’s up.)

I have also sent some e-mail inquiries, asking if any of their items x, y, and/or z might be traded for any of mine. And I responded to one e-mail that asked me about trading for a specific item of mine with a couple of trade suggestions, and a follow-up e-mail!

I haven’t heard anything back. At all. Is that just protocol around here? Do people leave items in trade limbo for a week? Do they not reply to e-mail questions? I’m not criticizing- you all seem like such a friendly group- but I do want to know what the norm is around here.

After being on the web a while (plus a little help from analyzing the site’s analytics and trends) you start to learn the habits of surfers. Like any other site, people come and go, some stick around, some become wildly addicted, and some eventually just… leave.
Considering it’s a free site with no money changing hands, nor the strictness of sites like eBay, I’m thinking people generally don’t feel as obligated to see things through. Or maybe they just forget, or find a different site to pass the time.

Gah. I HATE that! I try not to leave them up for more than two weeks. I figure that if a person can’t check Rehash in a two week time, a trade with them isn’t going to go well either. If you REALLY want something of theirs, I’d message them after retracting it to let them know you’re still interested whenever they can make some time in their busy lives for you. =P
