I’ve gotten 1 bad trade. I traded with someone and sent her the item. It’s been 2 weeks, no response from her and nothing sent to me. Then she goes and deletes her account. Ah, crap happens. Hopefully this does not happen anymore. So far, rebecca and kylie has been good to me ;) sorry guys , I have been a little late on sending but It’s getting there! I sent the items recently. Hopefully no one gets f’ed over by bad traders. So, happy trading everyone.

You guys should send Orpheux a message whenever this kind of thing happens. Just jot down the offender’s screen name (or in this case, ex screen name) and we’ll try to see if there’s anything we can do to fix it or help prevent it in the future.

Isn’t that a bit weird? Sign up and steal somebodies shirt? It would be easier just to go shoplifting! (not that I’m encouraging shoplifting.) Seems to me that joining a site, creating a profile, contacting people, making a trade etc. etc. etc. is a lot of work to go through if you’re just gonna be a douch.

We’ll be putting something in place real soon that should prevent people from getting scammed easily. If you’ve got Karma and they don’t, you’ll be safe.

To those that have done the scamming, I wish we could take their mailing info and distribute it amongst snail mail advertisers across America, because since they like getting free stuff by mail they should love receiving 200+ free ads a day.

Another option (until OD takes care of the above) is the following:

If you have Karma and you’re trading with someone who has no Karma, have them send you the rehash item first. Then when you receive their rehash item in the mail, you mail your rehash item to them. That way you protect yourself from potential scammers.

The person with no Karma should have no problem sending items first since you, with your good Karma, have proven to be an honest and reliable rehasher. In turn, they’ll get good Karma from you and be able to demand the same “you go first” request when someone with no Karma wants to trade with them.

I don’t know if I want to trade anymore. Another person has not sent my items. I spent about 24 bucks on shipping to send these items to this person and she has not responded to my many messages. I also wasted time at the post office! I see that she’s watching one of my new items I put up a week ago. If she can do that, why can’t she answer my messages or let me know if she will be shipping them late. A scam probably? I haven’t gave her a negative review yet. I’m going to give it a few more days. It makes me not want to do any more trades, only with the few I have traded with.

It’s probably that hilarylamb chick. I can check the DB to make sure, but I’m betting it’s her. A couple of you traded items with her at around the same time (literally between the same 2 days) a while ago and we’ve gotten reports from 4 different people about her.

Orlando removed her trading privileges. We can easily just delete her, but it would only cause her to create a new profile as an unknown new person that can potentially scam someone else.

Until we add the system automatically that forces those without Karma (or bad Karma) to ship items BEFORE the trusted person ships, you should just take it upon yourself for now to request that others ship their items to you first since you’ve got obvious authority around here.

Like my douchie friend just said, request that the other person (unless they’ve got good Karma) send their items first. Then when you receive them, send yours. While the functionality is being added on our end (lots of testing to be done, gotta be sure it works perfectly) I added a little notice in the My Trades area to remind people.

I’m sorry that happened to you (again) Henley. Just make sure they send their stuff first and that’s a no-scam guarantee.

Yes, It is Hilary. I’m so pissed, not so much of the items I sent but the fact that I payed about 24 bucks on shipping. I could have gotten 23 doublecheese burgers plus tax at mcdonalds including tax ends up to be $24;) I also wasted time at the post office for 15 minutes to ship internationally. She’s watching one of my items and….. duh!... she hasn’t sent my other 6! items for the longest. Darn, I guess I will never see my items. I guess, I will go with that new system of having the other person send my items first.
