Forgive my ignorance if there was already a topic on this issue. I used to be on swapstyle and I left because there were a lot of users who purchased an article of clothing for $30 years ago and still want to trade for that value. I think this is unfair because you can find the same article at your local thrift store for $3.

I personally have no problem giving someone a pair of pants for a pair of earrings. After all this is a place to get rid of your unwanted stuff for other people’s unwanted stuff. So why put a value on something you would have probably thrown away if you hadn’t discovered this site?

I totally agreed with the above…...I understand that people have their own style of trading things; and I don’t mind trading how-ever the other person want to trade. However, it has to be reasonable to both traders. I’m big on shipping fee though. (Since the clothes I have on here are things that I don’t care for anymore, I don’t care about their value) But for me to trade with someone, the shipping fee that cost me to ship to them can NOT be more than what it would of cost me if I go buy the item elsewhere….. (example: If I pay $10 to ship 1 pair of shoes that I TRADED for 1 shirt that’s probably $3 in goodwill…..Then I will not trade….I would rather keep my $10 and donate the shoes)

I understand that for Name-brand hand-bags, someone would want to get more things for them since they holds their dollar $$$ values pretty good—and some people trade by the $$$ value of things. But the reason why they are here to be traded is because you don’t really want them anymore….If I have name-brand stuff on here, I would NOT count every dollar. I would trade it for other things that I like more. (But I guess I feel this way, because the things that I put on here are the things that I no longer care for, and if I don’t trade them, then I would donate them. So I would take the trade to get rid of my “junk” for something else that I like “treasures”)........... But again, everyone have their own style of trading and have their own reasons.
