Or post in a forum while eating pie? Or smell mayo while eating pie? Or post in a mismatched socks forum about mayonnaise while eating pie?

You pose an interesting argument. Let me elaborate. I post in these forumz while wearing mismatched socks, yet, unfortunately, not eating pie. Therefore, I am cross. My love for pie, though ardent, does not supercede my hatred for mayo however. The conceptual image of a Mayonnaise Pie comes into mind. Or mayo, heaven forbid, spread on top of a delicious pie. Blasphemy! I also do love cake. Cake, cake, cake. Yum. Jack Bauer needs to bake me a cake.

Anyway, Fern, as to the pie scenario. If you’re posting on forums while wearing mismatched socks, mathematical law would dictate that suddenly you’re in a state of indifference rather than intense hatred, since two “negitudes” cancel each other out to create a positive or at the very least a neutral. Of course, this depends on whether your hatred is being multiplied rather than added
I guess the operand depends solely on how much you supposedly hate said actions.
