I thought this site was called Rehash An easy way to swap clothes, make friend, get answers and help the environment…BY SWAPPING ITEMS, there is way to many people on here trying to sell anymore. I think they should not allow to be oublishing items for sale. If someone is interested and you dont have something the other person likes well then by all means at a reasonable price they can come to an agreement but not listed as for sale…does anyone agree??? I took a hiatus from Rehash and since I came back I have noticed a lot more things listed with prices than there used to be. On the one hand, I can appreciate that those listers want to save time by avoiding a lot of swap offers they don’t want; on the other hand, I just don’t think this is really the appropriate venue for people who are mostly or only interested in selling – that’s what ebay is for. That said, if I was watching an item and the person wasn’t interested in anything of mine but offered me a reasonable price for it, I might consider, and vice versa, as I am more interested in clearing out space than getting a ton of new clothes right now. But when I see an item posted as “selling only” I tend to ignore it altogether. New York, New York |

Agreed….I do have several items that I’ve posted as “wishlist or gift card only”, but that also has a lot to do with some horrible trades as of late. Most of my MAC stuff is listed as “wishlist or gift card only” because I’d really like to trade it for other MAC items. Otherwise, most of my stuff is up for fair trade. For example, I’m very particular about my designer things, because I did spend the money on the item, so I’d like an equally nice item in return. Just because I’m not wearing it, carrying it, or using it, doesn’t mean that I don’t understand it’s value. Some people on here have personally attacked me because I don’t feel it fair to trade a high-end item for 5 pieces of junk I won’t use or would never purchase myself. I also feel like I’ve had to get a lot more picky lately, as I’ve had quite a few people offer me mass amounts of their junky items for my upscale things, and some have taken nice pictures of their items and when I finally receive them, they’re crap. The downside is there isn’t really anything I can do because the picture looked so much better than the actual item, and in my opinion, it isn’t really a reason to reverse a swap, so I’m stuck. I, for one, love the idea of rehash: when you’re tired of something or it doesn’t fit/appeal to you/you changed your style, etc… then by all means, list it to trade for something you WILL use, but for the love of whatever you believe in, if it’s beat up and you can’t wear it anymore because it looks like crap on you or it’s so worn out that you wouldn’t wear it in public, either throw it out or donate it for crying out loud. I have seen soooooooo many rehashes lately that have junky 3 year old hot topic crap that nobody would pick up at a garage sale, let alone trade for it. While I don’t necessarily agree with people primarily selling on the site, I might sway towards certain things that would fair better for selling on rehash. Things like gently used makeup or replica items for example (you can’t sell used makeup or replicas on Ebay) might make sense. But for other items, I believe in swapping. I could also see where someone might get the itch to only sell from bad trading as I mentioned above… I know I was very frustrated when Swapstyle went down, because it seemed that there were a whole slew of high quality things, and over here at Rehash, we have a lot more “teeny bopper” items (hollister, F21, etc) and junky. Just my two cents…. not trying to start an argument. :-) JACKSONVILLE, FL |

I don’t feel asking for an item on your wishlist or a gift card is selling. I just think if you want to STRAIGHT up sell go to ebay or a site where you sell…I especially hate if i am watching something and i receive and email ” hi I noticed you watching me so and so, you interested in buying it” that is so annoying….

if you aren’t interested in buying say no. I don’t see the big deal. remove it from your watch list and move on. IF you want it that badly, buy it. Dacula, GA |

I think what has everyone annoyed is that there are a substantial number of people on the site that are only wanting to sell. And to my knowledge, this site was created to faciliate item swapping. I know that I, like other swappers, joined to swap, but are constantly seeing items that are “For Sale Only” or getting annoying messages from other people asking my to buy an old t-shirt for $10. Or worse, people messaging me saying that they are about to sell an item for $10 and asking if I’ll pay more for it. This isn’t Ebay. Jefferson, Georgia |

I also agree it is irritating to see for sale only items. What is even more irritating is asking me to pay $20 for a used Forever 21 dress, come on!! I totally get that if you like an item and the other person doesn’t see anything on your list they might offer you a cash deal. That has happened to me and usually if I really like the item I will pay for it, if it is a good deal. I also agree with Katie the quality of items on here has really taken a downward turn. Which is kinda a bummer for us who don’t wear the teen clothes. That is why recently I have been trading with the same people over and over, I just hope they keep finding new clothes to put up lol! I have never really posted my opinion so i doubt it willl be taken into consideration :P But i will say what i think any way:) I agree that Rehash is for swapping but if someone chooses to put their item up FOR SALE ONLY that is their decision (and possibly their loss) But to make a big deal out of it doesnt really make sense to me …. you probably dont even want the item so just ignore the heading… and if you do inform the rehasher that you would rather trade and see what they say… Anyway this is just my five cents:) L'Assomption, Qc. |

We can complain and bicker all we want about this subject but unless the moderators ban the selling of items there is nothing we can do. |

This isn’t an opinion post (sorry!), but for people who are potentially interested in buying / selling and don’t want to go to ebay: I just found this site: http://www.theas.com/index.html It looks kind of like rehash, but you can sell. If you can make a profile here I’m sure you can put a link to your rehash page and vice versa. I JUST found it, so I’m still looking at it, but maybe it will appeal to some of you? |
