I went to the Buffalo Exchange for the first time with a bunch of clothes (mostly high end) including all of my rehashes and a few vintage pieces. I had about 3 bags of stuff, none of which was more than a year old or worn more than a few times. The manager (who hapened to be the one going through my clothes) only bought an old 60’s suede coat leather bucket hat and seven bootcut jeans. I am a conservative dresser, so I don’t have a lot of one of a kind trendy items. She was telling me that most of my modern stuff looked too “out of style”. Weird, because I noticed that most of the stuff in the store was very similar to the stuff I was trying to sell, only the brands were pretty low end with a lot of junior brands like F21, and their shoe selection is horrible! All I saw were chunky 6 inch glittery or peopard print platform heels or cowboy boots. I was just wondering if anyone has had this same experience. |

I’ve been to a buffalo’s exchange, but I have tried to sell at plato’s closet and it’s been pretty pathetic in my opinion. I’ve been told my stuff is too worn, but I can go through their tops and find ones with stains and holes! I’ve also brought in things and been told it’s not in style, but I see things almost exactly like it all around. I’m sorry BB. Jefferson, Georgia |

I’ve brought things into buffalo exchange, and they’ve been new items, with TAGS, and they havnt acceppted them. So I only tried once there, and yes, I have found some pretty worn items there, stains, etc. Plato’s closet has always bought some of what I bring in, however, the items they choose are usually the ones I wouldnt expect them to take, and sometimes they say they arnt in style anymore, etc. If you can sell on ebay or craigs first, I highly reccomend it, you’ll get way more $ than you would taking your things to either buffalo exchange or platos. My area doesn’t have a Plato’s or Buffalo exchange, but we do have The Garment District. I actually went there today! A couple of times I have gone in when the woman behind he purchasing desk just didn’t like what I had, but lo and behold, when I brought the same items in 6 weeks later, a different girl behind the desk bought the very same red vinyl snakeskin dress that I was told was too worn (did I ever even wear it?) the first time I went. Just wait for a turnover in staff and try again :) Manchester, New Hampshire |

I’m going to try taking some things to BE next week. Definitely do what one of the commenters said about bringing rejected items back. I’ve had much success with that at Plato’s Closet. San Mateo, California |

I went BACK to Buffalo Exchange! They bought like 5-6 items from me for $49! They gave me the option of $68 store credit or the cash. Buffalo’s I like much better than Plato’s now. They gave me $4 for a jacket recently, and they’re looking for winter clothing about now. =/ Blanco, TX |

I am so happy that I came to cognize about this exchange where I can sell my clothes. It is a great place I think. I am a big fashion enthusiast and I have a closet full of clothes. I was searching for such place for selling off my clothes. I have lots of beach bags and clutches. Can I sell them too? |
