So, who else is excited about Halloween? I turn into a freakin’ 5 year old over the Holiday! What is everyone planning for the big spookfest? any awesome crafts? food, decorations, costumes? I’m thinking of trying to make some of these http://www.bakerella.com/trick-or-treats/ And of course a veritable variety of candied apples! pomona park, Florida |

Does anyone have any Large/XL costumes for chesty gals like myself?? Preferably not the kind that leaves nothing to the imagination (if you know what I mean)?? :-P You could always create your own costume. I do it every year, saves a ton of money. I buy a charlotte russe corset and then pair it with whatever I’m going to be. I was a gypsy one year. I used one of those shimmery broom skirts and bought khussa (the indian shoes that you have to break in). Also, the little hip scarves are cheap on ebay. And the henna body art for my forehead. (Total cost was about $34 for the whole costume.) Last year I was a fox. I bought the ears and tail. I had a poofy skirt. And then this year I’m going to be a saloon girl. I’m reusing the poofy skirt from the fox costume. I just need to buy gloves, a garter, and one of those neat hat things that have been really popular with the feathers and the veil. I found this corset. I’m sure you could buy accessories somewhere and put together something. =) http://www/rehashclothes.com/classifieds/90074 Flappers are pretty popular and its easy to find things with beads and sequins. Also, a tip, if you visit spencers and hot topic 3 days before halloween everything is 50% off. =) |

I usually make my costumes as well. I try to be funny if possible! I like to get items at goodwill and as hand me downs. I was Bad Sandy from Grease a few years back. I used an old leather jacket and tight black pants. I bought the pants and wig and spent maybe $20! We went to a costume party for New Years and I bought all the clothes at Goodwill and I was Peggy Bundy! I spent probably $25 for everything including the brand new wig! Some of the costumes I have listed are HO-made!

Last year, I didn’t think I was going to participate in Halloween and then decided to last minute, so I had to come up with a last minute costume. I wore my moms flower girl dress from the 80s, wore my favorite pair of pink Wet Seal heels, and straightened my (at the time, blonde) hair … and tada, I was Barbie. To my suprise, I didn’t even have to tell people who I was, haha. I didn’t pay a cent for my costume, and I’ll probably be cheap (if I participate at all) this year too. Not everyone can be as creative as the above poster who posted her costume. : |

In 2008 I mixed a lot of stuff, like NBC tee and tights, tutu-like skirt, my favorite boots, red/orange wig, pumpkin bag and tada… I was SOMETHING! Hahaha In 2009 I was an old school vampire (I mean I have a mortal fear of sunlight). LOL!
Still in 2009 during Christmas (!!!) I went to a fancy dress party and was a sexy witch.
In 2010 if I participate again I´ll be a punk girl. =) Teresina, Piaui |
